The reference rating is the elevation of the water body modelled to the right of an existing project or construction. It is displayed in m NGF-IGN 69, i.e. in meter in the official leveling network in metropolitan France, which is attached to the Marseilles tidegrapher. Therefore, the reference rating does not correspond to a water level but to the altimetry of the water body. The water height is the difference between the reference and the altimeter dimensions of the natural terrain.
