A dataset of migration, reproduction, and morphology of breeding Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) populations in the tropical region of South China

This dataset comprises three subfiles: light-level geolocator data documenting the migration paths of 20 Barn Swallow individuals; individual morphological trait data for these tracked individuals; and breeding data collected from the study site between 2021 and 2023, which includes the 20 tracked individuals as well as other individuals from the local population.. The dataset is divided into Excel data and Lux data. The geolocator data for migratory paths consists of raw light-level data downloaded from the devices. The breeding data includes basic reproductive parameters recorded for both the deployment and retrieval years of the tracked individuals, and for other individuals in the study area, such as the date of the first egg laid, clutch size, number of nestlings, causes of breeding failure, and nest fate. The individual traits of the Barn Swallows comprised morphological data from 20 tracked individuals, including body weight and body length.
