Video-level Engagement Resources and Platform Metrics in BBC News and CGTN YouTube Coverage of New-Energy Vehicles

This dataset contains two complementary data files supporting a study of Engagement resources and platform circulation in 90 publicly accessible YouTube news videos published by BBC News and CGTN, comprising 42 BBC News videos and 48 CGTN videos. The video-level dataset provides video identifiers, canonical URLs, publication information, transcript length, video duration, cumulative views, comments and likes recorded on 2 July 2026, together with raw counts and normalized frequencies per 1,000 transcript words for Disclaim, Proclaim, Entertain and Attribute resources. The annotation-level dataset contains 5,698 individual Engagement-resource annotations with category labels and short contextual excerpts. The dataset does not redistribute audiovisual content or complete transcripts.
