Comptage vélo - Compteurs

** Data set listing and locating the meters of the bicycle counting sites of the City of Paris.**

A metering site may be equipped with a meter in the case of a one-way bike development or two meters in the case of a bi-directional cycling development.

The City of Paris has been deploying permanent bike meters (site or counting point) for several years to evaluate the development of cycling practice. The meters are located on bike paths and in some bus corridors open to bicycles. Other vehicles (e.g. scooters...) are not counted.

This dataset is loaded daily on the API of our partner [Eco Compteur](https://www.eco-compteur.com/expertise/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1e_cneec6QIV1PhRCh0XbQAyEAAYASAAEgL9gvD_BwE).

Since the Eco Meter API does not natively provide sense counting, aggregation processing has been performed to reconstruct it.

You will find here:

\- Counter identifier

\- Name of counter

\- Identifier of the counting site

\- Name of counting site

\- Date of installation of the counting site

\- Link to photo of the counting site

\- Geographical coordinates of the counting site

The number of meters evolves as cycling facilities progress. Some meters can be disabled for work or occasionally fail.

Currently there is no distinction between unidirectional and bi-directional counting sites. Bidirectional sites such as that of Rivoli therefore cumulate counts in both directions of circulation.

Counting distinguishing traffic directions on equipped sites will arrive later.

NB: Data exports show two technical fields, “Channel Identifier” and “Channel Name”, which are technical fields that are necessary for the construction of the “Meter Identifier” and “Meter Name” functional fields. It should not be taken into account.
