Cleaning up the Yarra - Installation of litter traps

This project will improve the health of the lower reaches of Melbourne’s Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay through the installation of additional litter traps to an existing litter trap system installed in 1996. The project will result in an 18% per annum increase in the total volume of floating litter collected/disposed of (an increase to 1080m3 from the current 900m3 of litter removed per annum). Parks Victoria is implementing the project on behalf of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
