The goal of this study is re-sequencing the genome of the marine bacterium Candidatus Uabimicrobium amorphum SRT547 isolated by Shiratori et al., Nat Commun 10, 5529 (2019). A closely related member of the provisional genus isolated from water samples taken in Northern Germany is described. Since members of Ca. Uabimicrobium obligately feed on other bacteria the strains are maintained as monoxenic cultures with Alteromonas macleodii as prey.
