资源简介:
Current dataset study presents findings from a cross-sectional survey assessing the knowledge and attitudes regarding vasectomy among school teachers in Sikar District, Rajasthan, India. The study aimed to document teachers\u2019 understanding, perceptions, and social acceptance of vasectomy as a male sterilization method. A structured survey was developed using a custom HTML\/CSS form, designed for offline completion to ensure accessibility and privacy in school settings. The instrument comprised six sections: demographic data, exposure to family planning information, factual knowledge about vasectomy, attitudes and psychosocial constructs, behavioral experiences, and sources of information. Knowledge items were assessed through true\/false\/don\u2019t know statements, while attitudes were measured using a five-point Likert scale covering personal views, subjective norms, perceived control, cultural and religious barriers, perceived health risks, and intention to recommend vasectomy. Data were collected from 300 school teachers across primary, middle, secondary, and senior secondary institutions in Sikar. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling strategy to capture diversity in gender, age, school type, and teaching level. Responses were stored in a structured spreadsheet for statistical analysis and can be reused for educational and public health research. The dataset supports quantitative studies on reproductive health awareness, gendered perceptions of contraception, and determinants of family planning adoption in rural and semi-urban Indian contexts. In addition to the raw responses, the dataset includes the complete HTML survey form, allowing researchers to replicate the instrument, adapt it for related studies, or deploy it in teaching and capacity-building exercises. By providing an openly available, well-documented dataset, this work contributes to the evidence base for improving communication strategies on male contraceptive methods and addressing cultural barriers to vasectomy uptake. Researchers, educators, and health program designers can leverage these data to inform interventions that promote balanced family planning choices and strengthen male participation in reproductive health.
