资源简介:
Background: Korfball is a mixed-gender sport that may foster inclusive motor development in youth; however, experimental evidence remains limited. This randomized controlled trial (RCT) investigated the effects of an 8-week korfball-based training program on explosive lower limb performance in children aged 10–12 years. Methods: Thirty healthy children were randomly assigned to either a korfball training group (n=15) or a control group (n=15). The intervention group performed supervised korfball-based training three times per week for eight weeks, while controls continued standard physical education. Pre- and post-tests included the Margaria-Kalamen (MK) power test (primary outcome) and the Standing Long Jump (SLJ) (secondary outcome). Outcome assessors were blinded. Statistical analysis involved 2×2 repeated-measures ANOVA with partial eta squared (η²ₚ); significance was set at p0.33). No adverse events were reported. Conclusions: Eight weeks of korfball-based training significantly enhanced anaerobic power and explosive lower limb performance in children. Gains were comparable between sexes, supporting the inclusive nature of korfball. The program appears suitable for school-based physical education.Trial registration: [Registration number, registry, and date].
