Real-time metagenomics-based diagnosis of community-acquired meningitis: a prospective series, Southern France.

Current Point-Of-Care diagnosis of community-acquired meningitis allowed to identify presence/ absence of the pathogen genome in the CSF. Here we investigated a series of community-acquired meningitis patient by real-time metagenomics whole sequencing using Oxford Nanopore MinION. Real-time metagenomics sequencing provided a one-shot protocol for diagnostic, genotyping and antibiotic resistance profiling of meningitis causative microbes directly from CSF samples.
