Low pass sequencing of Hawaiian native plants

DNA from plants can often be acquired from herbarium specimens, which can be particularly useful for plants that are hard to access or species that have few individuals in the wild. Here we compared DNA from herbarium specimens to freezer-stored specimens for low pass genome skimming and chloroplast assembly to determine whether storage condition and age had an affect on DNA quality and sequencing output.
