SME Valuation Benchmarks 2026: WACC, betas and EV/EBITDA multiples by sector and country

Reference dataset for small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) valuation: discount rates (WACC), unlevered sector betas and EV/EBITDA multiple ranges for 11 industry sectors across 12 countries (France, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, United States, Australia, Singapore, India, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, South Africa). 110 rows. For each sector x country pair, the dataset provides: the WACC range (%, size-premium bounded), the Damodaran regional unlevered sector beta (January 2026), the mid-market EV/EBITDA multiple range, and the typical sector EBITDA margin range (%). Methodology: WACC is computed with CAPM as the country risk-free rate (10-year government bond yields, June 2026) plus the relevered sector beta times the equity risk premium (Damodaran January 2026, country premium included), plus an SME size premium calibrated against Argos Index mid-market transaction multiples. Currency thresholds are converted using ECB FX rates. The dataset is regenerated monthly from a tested single source of truth (450+ automated tests with a source-staleness gate).
