资源简介:
This pilot study aims to evaluate the effects of One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) surgery on the gut microbiome and associated health outcomes in morbidly obese patients over 12 months post surgery. The study is designed as a prospective cohort, single-arm, one-center investigation, enrolling participants who undergo a preoperative very low-calorie diet (VLCD) followed by OAGB surgery. Fecal swab samples were collected prior to OAGB surgery, post 3-, 6-, and 12-months to analyze changes in the gut microbiome using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This research seeks to understand the role of the gut microbiome in metabolic improvements and sustained weight loss post-surgery. Insights gained from this study may contribute to developing targeted microbiome-based therapies to enhance the outcomes of bariatric surgery.
