manufacturers in the chemical products register

In the field of chemicals, the federal government maintains the Chemicals Product Register, which is managed by the common notification authority for chemicals of the FOEN, FOPH, and SECO in accordance with the Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO). This ordinance contains the definitions of the chemicals subject to reporting, notification or authorization and establishes the product register. It is a register of substances and preparations that fall within the scope of the following ordinances: Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO), Chemical Risk Reduction Ordinance (ORRChem), Biocidal Products Ordinance (BPO), Plant Protection Products Ordinance (PPPO), Fertilizer Ordinance (FertO), Tobacco Products Ordinance (TabPO).
Under the above-mentioned ordinances, substances and preparations classified as hazardous must be reported and biocidal products, plant protection products, and fertilizers must be autorized. The Chemicals Product Register is a publicly accessible online database containing information on reported or approved products. Only information that is not confidential under Art. 73 ChemV is published.
The chemicals legislation uses the term “manufacturer” for the responsible person who places the chemical product in question on the market. Manufacturers are listed in the Chemicals Product Register in connection with the products they have reported.
