Impact of democratic variables on economic development and foreign direct investment: A case study on the political stability in Sub-Saharan Africa

This dataset was created to identify the dynamics of democracy on economic development and foreign direct investment (FDI) through the application of dynamic panel data estimation methods, such as the Arellano and Bond, and generalized method of moments (GMM) estimation methods, on 33 Sub-Saharan African countries for the period of 2000 to 2014. The study employed World Development Indicators and Worldwide Governance Indicators as a proxy for democracy in the regression models employing economic development and FDI as the dependent variables.
