资源简介:
Identification with the commune of radon potential and classification into 3 hazard categories (1 low, 2 medium, 3 strong) The factors controlling the concentration of radon in indoor air are multiple and depend in particular on the architectural characteristics of the buildings but also on their use and ventilation. However, the nature of the rocks under buildings remains one of the main determining factors. Knowledge of the characteristics of geological formations on the territory makes it possible to map areas where radon at high concentrations in buildings is most likely. Such a mapping provides a useful technical basis for guiding the implementation of a radon risk management policy, in addition to information from measurement results acquired in building screening campaigns. The first step is to evaluate the radon production potential of geological formations, i.e. classify them according to their measured or extrapolated uranium content. The second step is to weigh this potential by taking into account, when identified, cofactors that can facilitate the transport of radon in rocks and soils (failures, underground mining works, sites of hydrothermal sources). Finally, the third stage establishes a final classification of all these parameters to arrive at a map of the “radon potential” of geological formations.
