Data for publication: The EAWS matrix, a decision support tool to determine the regional avalanche danger level (Part B): operational testing and use
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the data and analysis scripts used in Techel et al.: The EAWS matrix, a look-up table to determine the regional avalanche danger level (Part B): Operational testing and use. The study evaluates the operational application of the revised EAWS Matrix by European avalanche warning services and forms part of the iterative Matrix development process described in the companion paper Müller et al.: The EAWS matrix, a decision support tool to determine the regional avalanche danger level (Part A): Conceptual development. The CSV files contain anonymized, case-based assessments of avalanche conditions as used in operational forecasting. Each row represents a single assessment instance and includes: categorical assessments of snowpack stability (stab), frequency of snowpack stability (freq), avalanche size (size), forecast date (date), avalanche problem (problem), - NA if unknown identifiers for the warning service (source, source2), the issued danger level (DL), the danger level suggested by the EAWS Matrix (DL_matrix), and a combined Matrix cell label (label). The R scripts reproduce the analyses presented in the manuscript, including Matrix cell usage statistics, compliance analyses, and figures. All scripts are provided as used in the study and are intended to support transparency and reproducibility. The data are provided for scientific use to facilitate further research on avalanche danger assessment, decision-support tools, and harmonization of forecasting practices across warning services.
