The data is supplementary to the publication "EFFECT OF INTER-TOW ANGLE AND TEMPERATURE ON THE STATIC COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION OF PREIMPREGNATED TOWS IN TOW-TOW AND TOW-METAL CONTACT" Key words: friction measurement, towpreg, temperature dependency, inter-tow angle The data sets contain measured data on IVW developed friction measurement device. Material details: The material used in the following studies is a commercially available towpreg manufactured by Kümpers. This towpreg system combines a Westlake epoxy resin with Formosa TC780 reinforcing carbon tow. The epoxy resin is a solvent-free formulation developed by Westlake specifically for use in towpregs. The resin has a high viscosity at room temperature, which makes it easy to handle; however, its viscosity can be reduced by applying heat, which is beneficial during processing.
