Plantago Major distribution in YorkU grasslands

This dataset was created by our ecology lab team Amena, Taylor, Keerthana and I. The data was recorded at York University's Keele campus on September 22, 2015 around 3:00PM - 4:00PM. During the lab the weather was sunny with a temperature of about 20 degrees. Our sampling was done via the random sampling method. We used a random number generator (https://www.random.org/) to avoid haphazard/biased sampling. After getting a number of 34 we took 34 steps before placing the transect down. We used the belt transect method, every Plantago Major plant within 1 metre of the transect was recorded. The data recorded was distance along the transect in Feet and inches, height in inches, # of leaves/flowers and the proximity of the plant to others within 50cm (rated from 0-3 explained in metadata). We sampled 50 plants along the transect. The average number of leaves found was 4.8, average height was 1.1 inches and the mode for proximity to another plant was 2.
