Adaptable economies: Depth‐dependent plant carbon allocation acquires distinct phosphorus forms

This repository contains the R script and datasets needed for the analyses described in the manuscript, "Adaptable economies: Depth‐dependent plant carbon allocation acquires distinct phosphorus forms." The repository includes the following files: GreenhouseScript_Cleaned.R: Cleaned R script used to run statistical analyses and generate plots for the above manuscript.Cstocks.csv: Data file contaning root and foliar carbon stock data.GreenhouseDataSummary3_101321.csv: Data file with all data compiled in one place, used to run phosphatase analyses in the R script. GreenhouseRootCounts_2_109cm_101221: Data file containing root count data from soil surface to 109 cm deep, presence absence data for each 1 cm layer. Used for root distribution analyses. PlantP_Concentrations_Edit.csvPStocks4.csv: Data file with cumulative plant (root and shoot) and soil P stocks collected from described experiment. PStocks_totals_010825.csv: Data file containing all foliar, root, and soil P data, depth specific not cumulative. Greenhouse_PcalcWorkbook_EH_080125_Version2_update depths-2.csv: Soil P fractions spreadsheet including organic P, inorganic P, recalcitrant P and P in soil extracts used to calcualte soil Po and Pi totals. PHorizons.csv: Soil P data summed by 'layer' for analysis of shallow and deep soils in the described experiment. We have also uploaded 3 photos (.jpg files) of the experimental set up and root sampling to provide context for the manuscript and data.
