There are multiple geographic levels available, plus multiple metrics for each category as well. These data are for the National listings. BEA publishes data at a Local and State scale as well. For all three geographic levels (Local, State, National), there are 519 table types available, listed in the file BEA_All_Tables_Comprehensive.csv. However, for each table, there are often multiple time periods (Annual, Quarterly) as well. The full listing of all tables contained in the entire 3 datasets is in BEA_Inventory_Report.xslx. The latter can also be examined for files only occurring in the National dataset where the “Directory” column is “BEA_National”.
Most of the data for this National geography are in zip files. Each of the categories of download have been zipped together, as well as the Python code for downloading.
Code for downloads and indexing and cataloging is available in both the BEA_Python_Scripts.zip and the GitHub repository at https://github.com/Public-Environmental-Data-Partners/scripts/tree/main/oneTimeHacks/BEA
