Districts of Cologne

A municipal electoral district is the electoral organisation unit in which the direct candidates are elected in a local election. As part of the electoral organisation, these are further divided into voting districts, which, in the event of an election, will be allocated an electoral room for voting at the ballot. The city area of Cologne was divided into 45 municipal electoral districts at the municipal elections in 2020. The re-cutting of the voting districts for the 2021 federal election requires a new division into municipal electoral districts for the next municipal election, as the local electoral districts are not depictable with these new cuts.
