NCR Park Management (Jurisdictional) Boundaries
This polygon dataset represents the jurisdictional park boundaries for the National Park Service (NPS) units in the National Capital Region. The polygons represent the land the is owned and managed by the NPS including which NPS administrative unit manages it. This boundary is equivalent to the type of boundary that is displayed on park brochure maps. This boundary data takes into consider Transfers of Jurisdiction so that land which has been transferred to another federal agency, including the District of Columbia government, does not appear as being NPS land. The NPS has no authority, interest, or jurisdiction over transferred land. Although the legal mechanism is different from a sale or disposal, the functional result is the same; it is no longer National Park Service land. This boundary identifies the NPS unit that administers and manages the land, not the legislated unit by which it was acquired by the NPS. This allows the user the identify which NPS unit manages the facilities, maintains the resources, which NPS.gov website provides information about it, and which superintendent is the steward of it. This data is available on the NPS Data Store, part of the Integrated Resource Management Applications (IRMA) Portal: Park Management (Jurisdictional) Boundaries, National Capital Region NPS (IRMA ID 2305168). It's also linked to in the Regional Datasets (Spatial Basedata), National Capital Region, National Park Service on IRMA (IRMA ID 2305197). The Land Resources Division manages the NPS boundary data related to land acquisition and realty activities. They publish and maintain several datasets related to NPS boundaries which are identified as authoritative. They provide different information than is provided in this dataset. Please keep in mind the intended use of the data when choosing the dataset to use. For the legislated unit boundaries, see National Park Service Land Resources Division Tract and Boundary Service feature layer. That dataset includes three layers. The legislated boundary (nps_boundary) is the extent the NPS can acquire without needing additional legislation. These boundaries include land not owned by the NPS. It’s dissolved by legislated unit. The legislated boundary centroids (nps_boundary_centroids) are autogenerated points from the legislated boundary. The tracts boundaries (nps_tracts) are polygons representing individual tracts (similar to parcels) that comprise the legislated boundary. These tracts identify the land status, but do not identify Transfers of Jurisdiction. For the fee boundaries, see the NPS Fee Boundaries feature layer. This is the conglomeration of tracts list as “NPS FEE” in the nps_tracts layer. It does not take into consider Transfers of Jurisdiction, so includes non-NPS land in the District of Columbia.
法定边界质心(nps_boundary_centroids):由法定边界自动生成的点要素;3.
