Tea bud blight is one of the most serious foliar diseases of tea tree caused by the plant pathogenic fungus Phyllosticta capitalensiswhich can affect production and quality of tea worldwide. In this study, we generated a highly contiguous 32.82Mb genome of P. capitalensisstrain CYK56 by combining PacBio long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing technologies. The assembly had a contig N50 size of 2.85Mb, containing a total of 9,423 protein-coding genes were predicted, of which about 85.02% were functionally annotated. The high-quality genome assembly and annotation resource reported here will be useful for the study of fungal infection mechanisms and pathogen-host interaction.
