Industrial Intelligence Deficit in MSME Food Processing: Why Small-Scale Grinding Units Operate Without Data Visibility
收藏资源简介:
This paper investigates the absence of real-time operational intelligence in MSME food grinding units, particularly in India. Despite their scale and economic importance, most units operate without data visibility, relying on human intuition for critical decisions. The study identifies four key failure modes—thermal degradation, moisture-related shelf-life issues, particle size inconsistency, and reactive maintenance—each contributing to significant quality and financial losses. It argues that these inefficiencies are systemic, not incidental, and persist due to structural market constraints rather than lack of technology. As Part I of the Grindflow Research Series, this work establishes the case for intelligent intervention in MSME food processing systems.
