This dataset presents the comprehensive observation data used in the analysis of a heavy pollution event in Xiangyang for the period January 3 to January 9, 2019. The data of meteorological elements, turbulence variables, temperature profile, PBL height, inversion-layer, relatively humidity profile, vertical distribution of PM<sub>2.5</sub>, wind speed and direction was available in each sheet of the Excel file.
