Bacillus velezensis is a species of the family Bacillaceae, known for its antifungal, antibacterial, plant growth-promoting, and biocontrol properties, which make the bacteria a promising probiotic. Bacilli are able to survive in various extreme conditions and to compete pathogenic microorganisms, so these bacteria can be used to protect surfaces from colonization by unfavorable bacteria.We sequenced the genome of B. velezensis isolated from the skin surface of a healthy individual for its further use as a probiotic additive in the production of household chemicals.
