Transcriptome sequencing of Eustoma grandiflorum

Plant cuticular wax covers the outer surface of aerial plant tissues. EgMIXTA1 regulates cuticular wax deposition and decrease water loss. Increasing the accumulation of cuticular waxes may be important in reducing water loss and possibly delaying senescence and extending the vase life of cut Eustoma grandiflorum flowers. We produced transgenic E. grandiflorum lines with constitutive overexpression of EgMIXTA1 as well as RNA interference (RNAi) knockdown lines and selected 3 replicates each of these three lines, including wild type, for transcriptome sequencing.
