资源简介:
This dataset presents the result of a method developed to find the concentration of chlorophyll-a derived by various satellites in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. This version contains the new method for calculating and extracting CHL-a concentrations. The basic data come from satellites orbiting the Earth and from sensors that aim to observe the ocean color. This project may be associated with the initiative of the European Space Agency's Climate Change Initiative (CCI) program*. The ocean color, seen from space, makes it possible to estimate the chlorophyll content in water. This pigment is an index of the biomass of microscopic algae. Compared to the Atlantic Ocean, the waters of the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence are rather isolated and are highly mixed with fresh water from numerous rivers. This project is part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Data Program under Fisheries and Oceans Canada's Oceans Protection Plan. NOTE OF USE: The data is available for download via the ERDDAP platform.
