Hepatic stellate cell single cell atlas reveals a highly similar activation process across liver disease aetiologies

It is still unclear whether hepatic stellate cells (HSC) activate in a similar manner in different chronic liver disease aetiologies. Here, we investigate how human stellate cells activate in vitro at the transcriptome level. Ultrapure primary human HSCs were isolated by FACS (excitation: 355 nm, emission: 450 nm) (n = 4) and compared with plated primary human HSCs after 1 (n = 3) and 3 passages (n = 3).
