RNA-seq was conducted in order to analyze changes of gene expression in Bacterides cells in the presence of glycosaminoglycan or mucin. Bacteroides ovatus ATCC 8483 was grown in glucose, chondroitin sulfate C, hyaluronate, or heparin, or mucin minimal medium, or nutrient rich Gifu anaerobic medium (GAM). RNA was extracted at the logarithmic phase and applied to RNA-seq.
