Wilgara Ramsar restoration & resilience project

The Wilgara Ramsar Site has the potential to support a large range of biodiversity and thus capable of storing significant amounts or carbon. However, this ecosystem has suffered considerably through drought and continues to face increasing pressure from climate change and over allocation of water resources. This ecosystem needs to adjust to climate change naturally through building resilience. The aim of this project is to enhance restoration and regeneration, through a change to "business as usual" grazing, the introduction of invasive species management programs and pivotal to this will be the introduction of a comprehensive monitoring program which will feed back into the overall adaptive management of this site.
