Operational and conceptual definitions of the antecedents and consequences of the nursing diagnosis “Excessive Caregiving Burden (00366)” in informal caregivers of people with heart failure

This dataset contains the conceptual and operational definitions of the components of the nursing diagnosis “Excessive Caregiving Burden (00366),” with a focus on informal caregivers of people with heart failure. The data are derived from a methodological study of content validity, conducted with 29 experts with clinical, academic, and/or scientific experience in the field. The material includes the diagnostic definition, defining characteristics, related factors, antecedents, and consequences identified through an integrative review and concept analysis, subsequently evaluated for relevance using a Likert-type scale. For each component, validation parameters are presented, including weighted median, Content Validity Index (CVI), and results of the Wilcoxon test. The criteria adopted for validation were weighted median ≥ 0.80, CVI ≥ 0.80, and p > 0.05. The data supported the refinement of the diagnostic structure, including reformulation of the definition and the proposal of new diagnostic elements. This dataset aims to promote methodological transparency, scientific reproducibility, and support for future research on the validation of nursing diagnoses, especially in the context of heart failure and informal care.
