The dataset from a field necromass decomposition experiment with varying clay content model soils.

The dataset was used to characterize the impact of clay content on the decomposition of bacterial and fungal residues, with two main themes: the first contains R codes for PCA, PCOA and variance partitioning analysis, the second contains data. The data in this dataset were obtained from an in-situ labeling decomposition experiment, which included three clay content treatments of 20%, 40% and 60%, and two residue types of bacterial and fungal residues, with a total of six treatments, each repeated three times, and three control treatments without adding residues, each repeated once.
