SVOD penetration rate in the Benelux region 2014-2018

Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg were both behind as well as ahead of the average household penetration of SVOD in 2018. Online video services such as Netflix seemed especially popular in the Netherlands, with more than 40 percent of households in the country having an SVOD subscription in 2018. This penetration had also increased more than the European average, when compared to 2017. Belgian and Luxembourgish households were catching up, however, with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg enjoying a faster growth than Belgium.
