Hippoboscidae and Nycteribiidae Recording Scheme - records verified via iRecord

This dataset covers the Diptera in the families Hippoboscidae (flat flies and keds) and Nycteribiidae (bat flies). All records have been verified by the scheme. Records are submitted directly to iRecord and or via the recorders. Dataset includes records collated from old museum records and published literature where records remain valid after changes in taxonomy or are reliably identifiable from the descriptions. It also includes data from the "2021 Mapping the UK's Flat Flies Project" and its 2020 pilot study. Additional information can be obtained from the Hippoboscidae and Nycteribiidae Recording Scheme.
