Datasets were generated under three levels of search effort per sampling occasion (2,000 km, 4,000 km, and 8,000 km) that was uncorrelated or correlated with animal density, resulting in six data-generating scenarios. The baseline probability of detection in each scenario (median and (2.5%, 97.5%) percentiles) corresponded to the probability of observing an individual whose activity center is coincident with the center of the trapping grid cell.
