Data for: Numerical simulation of aeroacoustic sound generated by flow around porous-coated bluff bodies using volume penalization This dataset comprises simulation results generated using the in-house developed CRUNA tool, which solves the compressible Navier-Stokes equations to model fluid dynamics around porous-coated cylinders. The database includes two distinct datasets, each corresponding to a simulation of a cylinder coated with a different porous material. The simulations employed volume penalization to model the porous materials and were conducted to investigate the aeroacoustic characteristics of these materials at a Reynolds number of 99,000. Each dataset contains microphone data collected from 16 strategically positioned locations around the cylinder. These microphone recordings capture the acoustic pressure fluctuations resulting from the interaction between the fluid flow and the porous coatings. This data is essential for analyzing the noise reduction capabilities and aerodynamic properties of the different materials used in the coatings.
