资源简介:
Bacillus cereus is a foodborne pathogen capable of forming persistent biofilms and producing enterotoxins, posing serious risks to food safety and public health. This dataset presents transcriptomic profiles of B. cereus ATCC 11778 following exposure to extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from potato peels.RNA sequencing was performed to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the antimicrobial and antibiofilm activity of plant EVs. Analysis revealed that potato-derived EVs significantly suppressed critical bacterial pathways, including quorum sensing, two-component systems, ABC transporters, flagellar assembly, and oxidative phosphorylation. In contrast, EVs derived from milk promoted the expression of genes associated with growth and biosynthesis. These findings indicate that potato EVs act through a multi-target, cross-kingdom regulatory mechanism, disrupting bacterial virulence and survival strategies. The data support the potential of plant-derived EVs as sustainable, natural antimicrobial agents with applications in food preservation and biofilm control.
