Comparison of MPFL Reconstruction and Lateral Retinacular Release with and without MPTL Reconstruction for Treating Positive J-Sign Recurrent Patellar Dislocation: A Retrospective Stud

The optimal surgical treatment for recurrent patellar dislocation (RPD) with a positive J-sign remains controversial. It is unclear whether medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFL-R) combined with lateral retinacular release (LRR) or further augmented by medial patellotibial ligament reconstruction (MPTL-R) can achieve favorable clinical outcomes in this patient population. Therefore, this study aims to compare the clinical efficacy of MPFL-R combined with LRR versus MPFL-R combined with MPTL-R and LRR for treating RPD with a positive J-sign.
