Data and R code supporting fungal community analyses in British oak heartwood

This repository contains datasets, metadata, visual core charts, and R scripts supporting the analyses presented in the accompanying manuscript submitted to New Phytologist. The study examines fungal community composition, species richness, and spatial distributions of fungi associated with veteran oak heartwood cores collected from multiple sites in the United Kingdom. Included materials comprise: species occurrence matrices, combined fungal species lists, tree and site metadata, visual representations of sampled cores, Genbank accession numbers, and R scripts used for statistical analyses and figure generation. Analytical workflows include: NMDS ordination, PERMANOVA, beta-dispersion analyses, species accumulation analyses, environmental fitting, indicator species analyses, and species richness correlations.
