Transcriptome of a non-photosynthetic green alga. Volvocales sp. NrCl902

This project aims to understand functions and roles of a non-photosynthetic plastid remnant in a free-living green alga, Hyalogonium sp. NrCl902, on the basis of transcriptome analyses. This project also aims to clarify the reductive evolution of plastid functions after loss of photosynthesis, by comparing plastid functions between non-photosynthetic species and photosynthetic species.
