The bacterial etiology and antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of lower respiratory and intra-abdominal infections in Vietnam

This is a descriptive cross-sectional multi-hospital study aiming to understand the microbiology and antimicrobial resistance patterns of LRIs and IAIs in Vietnam. This study aims to describe the most important bacterial causes of LRIs and IAIs obtained from patients records across 6 hospitals in Vietnam between November 2021 and May 2023. We will also investigate the distribution of these organisms by ward and specimen type; their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns; antimicrobial resistance genes and clinical outcomes.
