An in-depth analysis of changes in the proteome and immunopeptidome after treatments in Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a childhood brain cancer with an average survival of only 9 months diagnosis. It is resistant to chemotherapy, and radiotherapy offers a limited increase in survival. DIPG is not easily recognised by the immune system as the signals it puts on the surface of the cells seem healthy. This thesis looked at whether treatment with new drugs in clinical trials would change these signals from something that looks healthy to something the immune system will recognise and kill. Once these signals are known, they can be used in a cancer vaccine.
