Genomic characterisation of three Multidrug Resistant bacteria from critically ill patients by Nanopore technology

We aimed to look at pattern of spread, and lineages, AMR genes, resistomes of MDR Klebsiella strains from critically ill patients admitted to our hospital. Clinical samples (sputum and urine) were cultured and analysed for WGS using nanopore sequencing technology. To give clinicians a better understanding of MDR bugs & genes that play a role in pathogenesis for the management of the disease in critically ill. This could provide an opportunity for better antibiotic treatment options & prevent treatment failures.
