In present study, we studied on soil samples collected from various areas in South Korea as sources to isolate novel bacteria and a strain NIBRBAC000499792 was isolated from Cheonan area located in the middle of Korean Peninsula. 16S rRNA gene sequence study of the strain NIBRBAC000499792 with closely related various Lactobacillus species revealed that the isolated strain NIBRBAC000499792 might be a novel species of Genus Lactobacillus. Additionally, a series of taxonomic evaluation/determination was performed to characterize strain NIBRBAC000499792. In this study, phenotypic, phylogenetic and genomic characteristics of isolated strain NIBRBAC000499792 were described to evidence that the isolated strain NIBRBAC000499792 is a novel species, Lactobacillus terrae sp. nov.
