Streptococcus gallolyticus is known for its close association with infective endocarditis and colorectal cancer in humans. Despite the extensive research on the topic its virulence arsenal and the underlying pathogenesis mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this context we seek to identify proteins of S. gallolyticus, capable of inducing inflammation, potentially involved in the initiation or progression of oncogenesis in the colon.
