The Impact of Healthcare Resources on Healthcare Service Quality and Disease Control

Healthcare resources are fundamental to the health system, yet empirical evidence on their impact on healthcare service quality and disease control remains limited, particularly at the county level. This study analyzed a longitudinal panel dataset of 38 counties in Chongqing, China (2015–2023) to examine the associations of government health expenditure, health workforce, hospital beds, and high-value medical equipment with key health outcomes, including average length of hospital stay (ALHS), hospital mortality rates (HMR), and incidence of viral hepatitis (IVH).
