VPRS 12873 Index to Insolvencies (1871-1911); List of Certificates Granted and Issued (1875-1900); List of Certificates of Discharge (1871-1876)

This volume contains three series of records all relating to the Court of Insolvency at Castlemaine. The first series is a rough alphabetical index to all the cases of insolvency heard between 1871 and 1911. The number of the case, as recorded in the Court of Insolvency Register (VPRS 735) and in the Register of Insolvencies (VPRS 2286), is given as is the name of the insolvent.The second series at the back of the volume provides a handwritten List of Certificates of Discharge (1871 1876). The number of the case (as recorded in the Court Register), the persons name, the date of Compulsory Liquidation, the date of the Certificate of Discharge, details of transfers (to another jurisdiction) and Remarks are given.In the middle of the volume is the third series which is a List of Certificates of Discharge Issued (1875 1900). This series is similar in purpose, if not in the details included, to the List of Certificates of Discharge. The case number, name trade and residence of the insolvent are given. Further details are the dates of any order of sequestration, that of the order granting a certificate, date of the certificate and the date of issue of the certificate.
