CAM7 Aqua-planet QBO Data

This repository contains processed data from the aqua-planet configuration of version 7 of the Community Atmosphere Model (CAM7), in support of the Journal of Geophysical Research (JGR) Atmospheres publication: "Understanding the Response of the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation to Carbon Dioxide and Sea Surface Temperature Increases in Aqua-Planet Simulations." Inside the compressed file are three directories: (1) mm_data, which contains the monthly-mean data needed to create Figures 2-7, 10, and 11, (2) wave_data, which includes the monthly-mean Eliassen-Palm flux divergence for each equatorial wave type shown in Figure 8, and (3) wk_data, which contains spectral power arrays for the stratospheric zonal and meridional wind fields, used in Figure 1, and for the convective precipitation rate, shown in Figure 9. Each of these main directories contains three more folders (1xCO2, 4xCO2, and 4xCO2+4K), representing the three idealized climate change experiments carried out in the paper. All of the figures in the paper can be reproduced from these data using the Python visualization code in a separate, linked repository.
