Wood from 19th century shipwrecks in Lett and Lelu Harbors in the Federated
States of Micronesia were examined to determine what tree produced the timber
used for construction of these ships. Both ships are believed to be Western
Pacific whalers. The Lott Harbor ship is thought to be American, while the Lelu
Harbor ship is believed to be British.
